Congratulations to My Handsome for putting up with me as your girlfriend for 9 months!

This is the longest anyone's made it with me since college!!

You deserve an award.

Last night:
Me: "In 2 hours, we will have been dating for 9 months"
Him: "yay"
Him: "I win"
Me: "thanks for humoring me"
Him: "Love you baby"
Me: "You won at trivia?"
Him: "I won you."

Weiirdd...

Black hole

So I like to lock sweet texts from people... especially my guy.

Ever since I dropped my phone in the toilet, it's been on the fritz with text messaging--won't delete texts, won't open media messages (pics, group texts, etc), mixes up recipients (yeah...not always fun).

Well the other day, I tried to do a full inbox delete and selected "All Except Unread Messages"--which usually leaves the locked messages too.

It didn't.

All of my sweet texts were gone!

This morning...

Me: I miss my stockpile of sweet boyfriend texts
Him: Well my sweetest thing, you'll just have to start a new stockpile
Me: They were my proof to myself that you were head over heels for me
Him: Well my beautiful girl, I need to do more to prove it then, because you shouldn't need that kind of proof
Me: You already do so much. I'm just a black hole. :)
Him: Those are pretty dense, you are not
Me: LOL - that was incredibly clever!
Him: Don't I know it

He may be vain, but he's sweet and kind and alllll mine.

A Three Family House

My man took me for an airline trail walking date in between work and lessons a couple of days ago... We chat-chat-chatted, laughed a lot, and played. It was just what I needed. At one point, he brought up a home--how we should buy a three family home.

1) A music & training studio 0:-)
2) A home for us
3) Monthly rental income

I think my heart smiled bigger than my face did.

Niagra Falls, Las Vegas, and Branson, MO

Me: "That is why I am going to elope."
Him: "Oh yeah? Where are we going?"
::smile:: "Niagra Falls?"
"Nope. Been there."
"Poconos?"
"Been there--Tough Mudder"
"Lake George?"
"Seen enough of NY"
"Vegas!"
"If I haven't already been by then, sure."
"Atlantic City"
"Gross!"
"Well... where do you want to go?!"
"Branson, Missouri"
"You want to elope in Branson, Missouri??"
(That was one of our options when we were trying to figure out where to go with his Southwest voucher....he has this thing about Branson!)
"They've got more live theater than Broadway.  You'd love it."
::giggle:: "Well then... Branson, MO it is."

He Cooks!

Ever since high school, I've said that I want to marry someone who cooks...

This man is ALWAYS serving me. From ice cream to hot chocolate to meals, he will stop whatever he's doing to take care of my belly. He will even stop his mom from stepping in to get me something. And of course, I am not allowed to lift a finger.

If I start scooping my own ice cream, I get, "You're doing it wrong...no no no...just let me do it."
I didn't know there was a right way or a wrong way to scoop ice cream.

If he's making dinner and I try to help out by stirring one pot while he takes care of something else, I get, "Stop. No. You have a baby....even though you're the woman, and this is supposed to be your place."
"Umm... he's playing happily on the floor behind us...what do you think every other mom in the world does?"
"They have nannies."
"No...they don't. They sit their babies on the floor behind them and stir the pot....just like I was trying to do."
Needless to say, I still didn't win. I was shooed away.

And tonight... he was getting ready to go for a run with his brother after we picked up Little Dude from daycare. He said, "Can I come over later?"
"Sure!"
"Do you have dinner plans?"
"Nope."
"Want me to bring you something?"
"Sure."
"What do you want?"
"Surprise me."
"I don't like that--pick something. I'm going to make it there."
"Burgers?"
"Done."

Then at home... Mom asked what I was doing for dinner... "Mike's making it for me later."
Mom: "Mike? Is making you something here?"
Dad: "What's wrong with that? Other than the fact that he wants to do it here."
Mom: "He's comfortable with that?"
Me: "I guess so."
Mom: "Wow."

If it's meant to be, it will be.

Back in January...

"I was crushing on you in high school, you know," said BD.
"You were??" I smile, "Why didn't you say something?!"
"Because I'm a pansy when it comes to that stuff... I was also crushing on you at that bonfire..." (a bonfire we went to with friends 4 years ago...)
"WHAT?! I was so excited to get to sit in your passenger seat on the drive there and back! Why didn't you say something then??"
"I told you, I'm a pansy."
"Well I had a crush on you when we were doing personal training..."
"Why didn't YOU say something?"
"Because you were seeing someone and I'm not a homewrecker. That's why I stopped."
"Oh...you should have said something."
"YOU should have said something!"
"You saw how long it took for me to kiss you! [...it took him at least few weeks of hanging out on the regular...] If I didn't already know you at brunch with Pam I wouldn't have even spoken to you."
"Weirdo."

Fortunately, he "said something" a couple of days after that brunch date with Pamcakes last November.  He texted and asked for help shopping for Christmas presents...

More than once, I've said, "I'm so glad you texted me."
"You and me both."

Big Mike (BD's dad) learned a little of this one night...and said to me, "You see? If it's meant to be, it will be."

On this weekend, 4 years ago, I was supposed to be getting married. There was a deposit on Glastonbury Country Club's banquet hall for 10/1/10--cute, right? We thought so...

Well, when October 1st came around 4 years ago, I had no idea 10/1/14 would come and go without me even realizing it... (until a couple of days later when I'm sick and home with lots of time to think).

I had no idea that on October 1st, 2014, I would be living with and working for my parents or teaching voice lessons in my hometown.
I had no idea that on October 1st, 2014, I would pick up my one year old son from daycare.
I had no idea that on October 1st, 2014, I would casually go to Angelico's for some (happy hour discounted) buff chick dip with Mike Hull--the kid who wore hawaiian shirts in high school, the kid who would compete with me for the highest grade on tests in Bio (I always won), the kid who was my personal trainer during the fall of 2010, the kid whose name I would joke about with friends... "So I went to high school with this kid named 'Mike-Hull...Michael Hull...Mikehull...Mikehull Hull...'"
I had no idea that on October 1st, 2014, that man who proposed 4.75ish years ago would never even cross my mind... the person who I thought would never leave the back of my mind!
I had no idea that on October 1st, 2014, my boyfriend would tease, "O.M.G. it's our 8 monthaversary date!" (there's no 31st in September)...

I had no idea that my heart would heal. I had no idea that I would actually move on. I had no idea that I would fall in love again... I had no idea how hard it would be to fall in love again, to trust again, to believe again. I had no idea that I would go through frog after frog who wouldn't be able to handle my baggage... and then I had no idea that I would ever find a frog who would...
